Bingham McHale Insurance Litigation Practice Group Members Form New Firm

Indianapolis – Two partners from law firm Bingham McHale, LLP are leaving March 1, 2009 to form a new firm. The new partnership of Dennis Cantrell and James Strenski will be called Cantrell, Strenski & Mehringer, LLP.

Susan Mehringer and Barbara Jones will also join the new firm as partners, while Tara Stapleton Lutes, Anna Muehling Mallon and Catherine Haines will be employed as associates. All are members of Bingham McHale's Insurance Litigation Practice Group. The new firm will be located in Suite 2400 of the Market Tower Building in Indianapolis.

The attorneys of Cantrell, Strenski & Mehringer, LLP possess many years of litigation experience with an emphasis on representing insurance companies in coverage and bad faith litigation, as well as defending insureds in third-party litigation. The new law firm was created as a result of the desire of its attorneys to practice in a small law firm environment, thereby enabling them to better serve the needs of insurance industry clients and their insureds.

"Dennis, Sue and Jim are outstanding lawyers with very good clients," said Toby McClamroch, managing partner of Bingham McHale. "Their decision is a good one, and there is agreement about the rationale for their move."

Clients will continue to receive the same high level of benefits, experience and service they enjoyed at Bingham McHale in combination with the advantages of the new small law firm structure, explained Dennis Cantrell.

"The new law firm will continue to have a mutually beneficial relationship with Bingham McHale by subleasing space from the firm, so our offices will not even have to relocate more than one floor in this building."

Partners Cantrell and Strenski were recently named as Super Lawyers in the area of insurance coverage for 2009, and they represent the largest insurer in the nation in bad faith and coverage litigation in Indiana.
